Sharing about the work Reflections is doing and their new initiative – the Hope Companion Project.
On the back of the launch of the Hope Companion Project, our Co-founder and Managing Director, Jo Morris caught up with Tod Johnston to reflect on the forming of the foundation and how we are bringing hope to people in their darkest times.
“Mesothelioma is a cancer for which there is no cure, with a life expectancy of 6 to 12 months,” Tod provides background. “It’s interesting to note that one person passes away every 12 hours from mesothelioma and an estimated 4000 per year from the affects of asbestos…”
“But it’s amazing, from those facts and figures this great story blossoms. Jo’s father, Barry Knowles, was diagnosed with mesothelioma and was given 6 to 12 months to live, but he defied the odds.” Tod introduces Jo.
“What we are providing is hope, in a seemingly hopeless situation,” says Jo. “Having first-hand experience brings a whole new level to the support that we can provide.”
