Following our recent announcement that WA is the first state with mandatory asbestos training for those entering the building and construction industry, we are thrilled to announce that funds raised by the tradies at last years Steeltoes & Stilettos have been used to develop an augmented reality module to compliment this training.
Our annual Steeltoes & Stilettos event brings the risk of asbestos to the big stage when tradies are dobbed in and sponsored to walk the catwalk with a model. Last November, the red carpet was rolled out at the Hyatt Regency Perth where 250 people cheered on tradies who bravely strut their stuff for the cause.
“Asbestos remains a hidden danger on any site built or renovated prior to 1990, and with the average age of exposure being 23, it is important that trainees entering the building and construction industry are made aware of the ongoing risk. This education is empowering those most at risk to make potentially life-saving decisions.”
