Expand Plumbing & Gas: New Industry Partner

We’re proud to welcome Expand Plumbing and Gas as our newest Industry Partner.

This family-owned business has built a solid reputation for professionalism, exceptional customer service and a genuine commitment to doing things the right way.

From the moment they step onto site, the Expand team brings respect, reliability, and a safety-first attitude – all the values that align with what we stand for at Reflections.

It’s clear that Alec, Sara and the team have fostered a culture where presentation, preparedness and pride in their work are second nature.

But what truly sets Expand apart is why they chose to partner with Reflections.

“We’ve made the decision to come on board as an Industry Partner with Reflections as throughout Alec’s entire career, he has worked on buildings and homes never having any knowledge that the substances he was working with could be dangerous,” says Sara, Alec’s wife and business partner.

There were no safety procedures followed or provided to him or his colleagues when working with dangerous materials.

Alec’s aim is to ensure that moving forward, more awareness is raised for the entire industry.

More awareness, specifically with plumbers, is needed around the hidden dangers of carrying out a simple task such as drilling a hole in a bathroom floor to locate a leak that may release asbestos fibres during the drilling process.”

It’s a powerful message and sadly, not an uncommon story. Alec’s experience is a reminder of how crucial awareness and education are when it comes to asbestos safety, especially in trades like plumbing, where everyday tasks can have hidden dangers. It’s sometimes the simplest tasks that can carry the unseen risks.

At Expand Plumbing and Gas, their care for people shines through – in the way they support their team, how they serve their customers and how they show up for their community.

With strong values, commitment to doing things right, and unwavering focus on safety make them a powerful example of industry leadership. We’re pleased to have them on this journey with us. Together we’re working to make WA worksites safer to protect WA tradies and reduce the impact of asbestos-related disease.
